Daily Section Summary Report

What This Report Is

The Daily Section Summary shows your store’s daily activity for each part of your business. You can choose to review one section at a time, such as Credit, Debit, Fuel Sales, Deposits, or Payouts. This report gives you a clear, daily breakdown of how much money is flowing through different payment types and sales categories.

Why It Matters

  • Track daily income and expenses for each category.
  • Spot problems quickly if something seems off (like a missing deposit or big refund).
  • Stay organized for end-of-month reporting and financial audits.
  • Easily compare performance over time by section.

What to Look For

  • Date: Each row shows one day’s total.
  • Section Totals: The daily total for the selected section.
  • Breakdown columns (depends on section selected):
    • Credit: VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, Esso cards, Gift Certificates.
    • Debit: Total debit card sales and transaction counts.
    • Deposits: Cash, ATM, and gift card deposits.
    • Fuel Sales: Total daily fuel sales.
    • Fuel Taxes: Taxes collected on fuel sales.
    • Taxes: Other taxes collected.
    • Sales: Total store sales by category (candy, drinks, tobacco, etc.).
    • Payouts: Money paid out of the till (e.g. store supplies, lottery).
    • Local Charges: Customer accounts or store charge accounts.
    • Statistics: Total transactions, fuel transactions, voids, and corrections.

What to Do

  • Review daily totals to ensure they match expectations.
  • Look for missing or unusually high/low amounts (e.g. no deposits, large payouts, or refunds).
  • Use this report with your Monthly Section Summary to verify that daily and monthly numbers match.
  • Print or export this report regularly for bookkeeping and tax purposes.
