How do I find an item?
Quickly Locating Products in Your Inventory
Introduction
Quickly locating items in your inventory is a fundamental aspect of managing your store's price book in XSite. Whether you need to edit an item's details or review its status, XSite provides efficient methods to search for the products you need. This guide details two effective options for finding items within the XSite system.
Option #1: Search Bar
- At the top of any page within XSite, you will find a search bar.
- Begin by typing the item's description, UPC, or PLU directly into this search field.
- As you type, XSite will display a list of items matching your input criteria.
- If the initial list does not show the item you're looking for, select ‘More Results’ at the bottom of the list to expand the search results.
- Once you locate the item in the search results, click on it to access its details.
- From here, you can proceed to edit or review the item as needed.
Option #2: Item Filter
- On the items page, look for the funnel-shaped icon located at the top of the interface.
- Clicking on this icon will open the filter feature to refine your item search.
- Upon activation, two dropdown menus will appear: 'Select a field' and 'Select a comparison'.
- Choose the field where your item may be categorized. Upon selection, a third input field will emerge, allowing you to further compare and specify your search terms.
- Examples of Filtering:
- To find an item by its description, select ‘Description’ from the first dropdown menu and type the specific description in the third field.
- To locate an item by department, choose 'Department' from the first dropdown and then pick the relevant department from the third field.
- To find an item by its description, select ‘Description’ from the first dropdown menu and type the specific description in the third field.
- Examples of Filtering:
- You can apply additional filters, such as 'Price is' or 'Price is less than', to refine your search to specific items.
- This method is particularly beneficial when you need to edit or analyze multiple items sharing common characteristics.
