This article shows you how to back up Passport POS store data by exporting it to a USB drive or C/D drive using the Passport backup and extraction tools so you can ensure store data is securely saved and available for recovery, transfer, or system setup.

Before you begin

  • You must have a USB drive or access to a C/D drive with enough free space.
  • You must be logged in to the Passport POS system with access to setup tools.

Steps

  1. Insert your USB drive into the Passport POS computer, or confirm access to a C/D drive.
  2. On the Passport POS screen, click [Setup].
  3. Select [Passport Backup Store].
  4. Click [Extraction Tool].
  5. Select [Export Data].
  6. Choose the data to export, then click [Next].
  7. Select the destination location.
  8. Choose [USB drive] or [C/D drive].
  9. Wait for the export process to complete.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not remove the USB drive while the backup is running.
  • Make sure the backup finishes without errors before closing the screen.
  • Keep the backup file in a safe place.
  • Create backups regularly, especially before system changes or updates.
  • If the export option is missing, check that you are logged in with the correct permissions.
