Introduction

If a user can’t access a page or perform a task, it’s likely a permission issue. This guide walks you through how to manage roles and assign them to users so your team has the access they need.

In XSiteIO

To manage roles:

  1. Click the Settings icon in the bottom left corner.
  2. Select Users to open the User Administration menu.
  3. Click the Roles tab to see all current roles.
  4. Click Manage next to any role to change its permissions.
  5. Adjust permissions as needed. For example, an Admin role may have All Permissions enabled.
  6. To create a new role, enter a name and set the needed permissions.

To assign a role to a user:

  1. Go back to the General tab in User Administration.
  2. Click on the user’s Id to open their settings.
  3. To add a new user, enter their information in the first row.
  4. Click the Roles tab in their profile.
  5. Choose the correct role for that user.
  6. Return to the General tab and click Update to save.

In XSite Classic

To manage roles:

  1. Go to Settings in the side menu and select Users.
  2. Click the Roles tab in the User Administration menu.
  3. Click Manage next to a role to update permissions.

To assign a role to a user:

  1. Return to the General tab.
  2. Click on the user’s Id to open their profile.
  3. Open the Assigned Roles tab.
  4. Select the correct role for the user.
  5. Go back to the General tab and click Update.
