Before you begin Steps Tips & Warnings

This article shows you how to back up Bulloch store files by using the Utilities → Backup Store Files option on Bulloch Register #1 and saving the data to a USB memory stick so you can ensure store data is securely backed up and available for XSite data import or recovery, reducing the risk of data loss during system setup or transitions.

Before you begin

  • You need access to Bulloch Register #1.
  • You need a USB memory stick with enough free space.

Steps

  1. Go to Bulloch Register #1.
  2. Insert the USB memory stick into an available USB port.
  3. Open the register’s main menu.
  4. Select Utilities.
  5. Select Backup Store Files.
  6. Wait for the backup to finish.
  7. On the USB memory stick, confirm the file named BT9000PriceBook.xml was created.
  8. Safely remove the USB memory stick.
  9. Use the USB file for import or recovery when needed.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you do not see BT9000PriceBook.xml on the USB stick, the backup may not have completed. Run the backup again.
  • If the backup does not start, try a different USB port or a different USB memory stick.
  • Keep the USB memory stick in a safe place. Treat it like a copy of your store data.
  • Do not rename or edit BT9000PriceBook.xml unless you were told to by XSite Support. Changes can cause import issues.
  • If you are backing up for an XSite import and you are unsure which register to use, use Bulloch Register #1.
