Before you begin Steps Tips & Warnings

This article shows you how to edit an item’s tax settings in XSite so you can ensure individual items are taxed correctly at the POS.

Before you begin

  • You must have permission to edit items in XSite.
  • Taxes (such as GST or HST) must already be set up in your system.

Steps

  1. Go to [Price Book] in the side menu.
  2. Click [Items], then click [Items] again.
  3. Find the item you want to update.
  4. Click the item’s [PLU number] to open its details.
  5. Locate the Choose Tax row.
  6. Select the tax you want to apply, or uncheck the tax you want to remove.
  7. Click [Save] to apply your changes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Item-level taxes override department tax settings.
  • If a price looks wrong at the POS, check both the item and department tax settings.
  • After making changes, sync XSite so updates reach the POS.
  • If you are unsure which tax applies, confirm with your accountant or local tax rules.
